We had been servicing the school’s older gym equipment for a number of years, making replacement parts where they had become obsolete in order to keep these machines working rather than writing them off. However, it recently became clear that it was time to upgrade the school’s facilities – and we gladly stepped in to help. Our team visited the school, listened to the staff’s requirements, and created a bespoke layout for the new equipment.
The whole installation was completed in just two days, with our fitters extending their working hours to ensure the works were finished before exams were due to start in the room next door to the school’s fitness suite.
Liz Burden, Director of Finance at St George’s, believes that the new products in the school’s weights room have made a huge difference to the quality of the lessons the staff can deliver to their students.
“The equipment itself is robust and easy to use and the students that have used it so far have commented on its quality,” she said.
“The range of equipment allows us to teach the students to exercise safely in a gym environment but also link in more advanced sport science theory, which in turn helps prepare them for BTEC courses later in their school life.
“This equipment sets us apart from local schools and is something that we are proud to be able to offer our students and staff.
“Since the equipment has been added, a large number of staff have had inductions and now use the gym before and after school time. It is brilliant to see it all getting used so regularly.”
