Achilles BuildingConfidence Accreditation
Monday, 20th December, 2010
Following a successful audit visit from Achilles we have been recommended for accreditation for BuildingConfidence. This is a great achievement as BuildingConfidence is quickly becoming recognised as the standard for supplier excellence within the industry. Major contractors are using the service to evaluate their supply chains, drive up performance and forge longer lasting relationships with key suppliers. We should hopefully receive our certificate in 2-4 weeks.

Volleyball England Change 4 Life Project
Monday, 11th October, 2010
We are pleased to announce that we are working with Volleyball England on their new Change 4 Life project, providing Volleyball Wall Sliders to initially over 400 schools across the country. Due to Launch shortly and funded by Sport England and the Youth Sport Trust, the project aims to set up 3000 new sports clubs on school sites to engage 13-19 years who may not already be already taking part in sport outside of school hours. Young people will be at the heart of these clubs, not only will they have had a say in the selected sports but at least 50% of the workforce will be young people (organisers, coaches, officials etc).
Volleyball has been included along with six other Olympic and Paralympic sports; Badminton, Table Tennis, Handball, Fencing, Boccia and Wheelchair Basketball. 432 new school Volleyball clubs will be starting from next month, hopefully attracting thousands of new young players to the sport.
As part of the programme, each Change 4 Life Volleyball club will receive a £250 coaching voucher which gives each school a place on one of Volleyball England’s bespoke training courses. These will be unique six hour modules covering all the formats of the Let’s Play Volleyball programme (2v2, 3v3 and 4v4) as well as enabling teachers to deliver our Young Leaders and Young Referees Award back in their schools.
This is an extremely exciting opportunity for Volleyball England as Lisa Wainwright, Volleyball England’s CEO comments; “Change 4 Life is a programme that will provide a significant step change in the provision of innovative volleyball equipment in schools and coaching support never delivered on this scale in England before. This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to be energised by the fresh, safe and sociable sport that is volleyball.”
This is an exciting time for volleyball across the country and Universal Services looks forward to working further with Volleyball England to provide the equipment for their current and forthcoming projects.
